TGC visit to The Island, Greatbridge, Romsey

We have arranged a private visit to this NGS garden, with a talk by the gardener. Refreshments included. Maximum 25 persons. £15 per person. Please e mail us on tgc.meetings@gmail.com if you wish to reserve a place. A board will be passed round at meetings from April. First come first served.

about the event
6 acres both sides of the River Test. Fine display of daffodils, tulips, spring flowering trees and summer bedding. The main garden has herbaceous and annual borders, fruit trees, rose pergola, lavender walk and extensive lawns. An arboretum planted in the 1930s by Sir Harold Hillier contains three ponds, shrubs and specimen trees providing interest throughout the year. No dogs allowed.
Wheelchair access and parking available. We are not providing transport but if you would like to share a lift we will try to accomodate you. The garden is close to Romsey and Mottisfont if you wish to make a day of it!
