about the event
As a young(er!) man Jonathan worked in Dairy farming before obtaining a degree in Agriculture at Reading University. He then set up a farm for edible snails but this wasn’t to be, as the Hurricane back in the late 80s took the roof off! After a spell ‘in the City’ Jonathan returned to science a few years later and taught in Greece, South Africa and Kuwait. Returning to the UK he taught aspects of Arboriculture at Merrist Wood college and has been Head of Science at a large local comprehensive school. He has recently been working on a Turtle conservation project in Northern Crete and is currently Science Engagement officer at RHS Wisley as well as being a part time lecturer for RHS. He has featured in RHS publications ‘The Garden’ as well as on RHS podcasts. He currently runs a You Tube Channel on Trees and other things of a conservation interest. Visitors welcome for a fee of £5. E mail us on tgc.meetings@gmail.com for further information.
