Peter is currently joint chair of the Wessex Orchid Society and also a member of the Hardy Orchid Society, which promotes the conservation and growth of native wild orchids in the UK. He grows tropical orchids in his home, in the conservatory, in the spare bedroom and the garage under LED lights.

about the event
Peter will give us a brief history of orchid collecting and will then talk about UK hardy orchids, some of which can be found in Hampshire and a little wider afield. Inspired by these interesting plants, we will then look at how we can grow them in our gardens.
He will then advise us how to grow tropical orchids in the home, in particular Phalaenopsis orchids and offering some tips for achieving better results.
