William has been involved with community gardening projects since retraining in horticulture after a career in arts & heritage. Currently Lead Community Gardener for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea managing a broad range of greening and food growing schemes, William has also worked in historic walled gardens in Essex and Chiswick House. William is a judge for London in Bloom and Brighter Kensington and Chelsea Scheme.  His talk will look at how community gardening provides opportunities for residents and individuals, many without access to outside spaces, to come together to cultivate neglected or unloved pockets of land and realise a shared goal.
